Grandfather of the Year
Award announced at the Princess coronation April 2nd for the best essay written by an elementary grade student about their grandfather.

The child along with their Grandfather of the Year will ride in the Saturday 10:00 AM Kiddie Parade and on Sunday 1:30 PM Big Parade.

Enjoy your choice of local microbrew & standard beers on tap and Westby’s very own Branches Winery beverages.
Drink tickets are $4/wine and $3/beer.

Golf Tournament
Saturday 10:00 AM tee time, Big Cup Golf Tournament.
Shotgun start with 18 holes, 4 people per team ($20/person).

Bicycle Tour - 30, 60, 100K Routes
Saturday, May 20th - Registration starts at 7:30 AM at Logan Mill Lodge.
Tour starts between 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM from the Logan Mill Lodge on Bekkedal Ave.
Pre-registration is $20 before the day of the tour, or $30 day of the tour. Kids under 12 only $2.

Syttende Mai 5K Walk/Run and Half Marathon
Saturday, March 14th - Registration and start/finish will be at the Westby Middle School located at 206 West Ave.
5K and Half Marathon registration can be done online at: http://www.vmh.org/content/annual-events or
 registration & packet pick up on Friday night from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Chicken Q (carb up, baby)
 or on the day of the event from 6:30 AM – 8:00 AM at the lower parking lot.
Half Marathon start time is 7:00 AM and 5K start time is at 8:00 AM.

Westby's Syttende Mai History:
Saturday, March 20th 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM located at 112 S. Main St (the former Westby Bakery).
See 49 years of Westby Syttende Mai History with a display of the large collection of its
official buttons, photographs, and memorabilia, many items dating back to l969.
Take in the over 40 displays created by Westby High School 9th grade students
as they proudly share their local history projects with you!
This is the3rd annual year for this free event presented by the
 "History Alive Project, Inc." teachers, volunteers and students.
Westby's own Syttende Mai historian will also share many artifacts
 spanning 49 years of its festival at the bakery.

 and enjoy over 50+ area history project displays hosted by

Tour one of Westby’s oldest recently renovated homes and headquarters for the History Alive Project!
 Enjoy a complimentary glass of lemonade on the porch.
Once inside, enjoy over 200 images and artifacts of our area’s history.
Register to win one of two one-time use guest passes to any of the
12 Wisconsin State Historical Society’s sites and museums. Drawing at 3 PM.

Syttende Mai Car and Bike Show:

Registration from 8:00 AM -11:00 AM at Westby’s Athletic Field.
 Judging starts at 11:30 AM. Awards ceremony at or before 3:00 PM.

 for a signing of his newest and seventh book “Immortalized in Bronze”
a good read about members of the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame.

Logan Mill Lodge Exhibit:
Saturday, May 20th, all day at the corner of 2nd St. and Bekkedal Ave.
 View exhibits of Westby’s Agriculture and Railroad History
in the caboose and renovated grain mill event room.

Norwegian Heritage Exhibit:
Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st all day at Borgen’s Café.
Explore a traveling heritage exhibit featuring unique and antique Norwegian items
from the Norskedalen Museum Collection and while you’re there …
sit and relax with a local favorite meal or pie!

Kiddie Parade:
Saturday, May 20th starting at 10:00 AM
located at the corner of Melby and Main St.
 and proceeds south on Main St. and east on Second St.
Line up and judging at 9:30 AM in the Bland Clinic parking lot.
Awards to the follow parade in front of the Logan Mill Red Caboose
across from Old Time Assisted Living.

Kiddie Tractor Pull:
Saturday, May 20th starting at 12:30 PM.
 Registration begins at 11:30 AM at the corner of Market and Highland Streets.
Button required for One Adult for a child to participate.

Rømmegrøt Eating Contest:
Saturday, May 20th at 2:00 PM located at the south-end of craft tents.
 Two age groups (10 & under, 11-18 and adults).
 Entry fee: 2016 Syttende Mai Button. Prizes following contest.

Friday, May 19th starting at 7:00 PM during the high school choral concert.

Antique Tractor Pull:

Join Music Director, Peter Engh, and the talented young people of the Westby High School Choral Group for an evening of musical entertainment for all.

Norski Music Stage

Saturday, May 20th enjoy live music from Noon– 10:00 PM located on Market St near State St.  
Stop by to “Toe Tap with Trolls” and dance/listen to local and regional bands and musicians. 

The Norsemen Beer & Wine Garden is located next to the Norski Music Tent and food vendors a stone’s throw from the drinks.

The party can be found on Market St

A Syttende Mai button purchase is required to enter the music tent and beer garden.

Chris Koza is a musician, composer, and performer living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Influences range from finger-picking folk guitar to fuse-busting prog rock, though generally settles tastefully somewhere in-between.
Koza's songs are being heard on television and radio broadcasts all across the world.
Most recently, Koza's song "The Wolves and the Ravens" were featured in Ben Stiller's film
                                                 "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,"and also included on the soundtrack.
